My name is Grace Windram, and I am 5 years old. I love playing with my friends, but unlike them I cannot walk and find moving around difficult. This is because I have Cerebral Palsy, a neurological condition which causes the muscles in my legs to tighten, so I cannot move them the way I would like and gives me ongoing discomfort.
I use a powered wheelchair to get around, but would love to walk with my own feet. Now this dream of mine might just be possible. I have been accepted for a life-changing operation in the US called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). With a LOT of physiotherapy in the
months and years to follow, the doctor believes I could walk with a walking frame, possibly crutches, and maybe even a little by myself. It would also reduce the pain in my legs, and help me later in life.
Please help make my dream come true by making a donation to Grace’s Fund, spreading the word or arranging a fundraising event.
Thank you so much, Grace x
